I was on Hainan Island, China leisure trip last few days.
Just caught up some reading of the newspapers upon arriving home this afternoon.
I was impressed with the interview of Tun Musa Hitam with Utusan Malaysia ( first read from translation report from Guang Ming Daily).
Tun Musa main point was about UMNO needs to change mindset.
He has other important points :
1. he worried about being condemed for being disloyal by UMNO members for his blunt comment of the party;
2. UMNO always believe in "UMNO Is Malay, Malay is UMNO" in which he thinks that such mindset is behind in catching up the already changed Malay community mindset;
3. Mahathir with his sole leadeship style but brought the development and great thanks to Pak Lah for being open in freedom of speech;
Of course, there are more points that Tun Musa has shared his view of Malaysia political arena in the interview.
The inspiration of the interview is now veteran politician is giving his balanced view despite his background of the prominent political party.
It is not drawing a conclusion whether Tun Musa saying is getting affimation or arguable counter views.
The fact is for the alliance which has been the leading the administration of the country is a kind of further review by a "independent" leader.
Similar to present MCA which is creating the uncertainty of the party itself as well as to the Barisan Nasional Alliance (BN).
Therefore, from Tun Musa highlight the weakness of UMNO and MCA is wished to be resolving the internal controversial, BN is in the urgent need to revive and survive !
