To me personally, I do not like the idea of " To Organise Because Need To Organise" .
To post mortem , our publicity was lacking. This can be improved for next event with slightly more budget allocation.
This time the expenses was with the approach of "Very Manageble Budgetery" unlike in the past when MCA was the host as MP of BTR.
Nevertheless, this is very good model for the youth. Our fellow youth members like this idea.
The most concern of me is the phenomena of "Indifferent Culture Is Still Indifferent In Malaysia".
Our secretary Bill Lee has had very good explanation the background of celeberation of "Mid Autumn Festival". Our fellow BN colleagued and media even ourselves were impressed with the "story" during the press conference on 27.9.09.
We, amongst ourselves regardless races even the Chinese ourselves , we are most of the time do not understand the meaning or objective of Malaysian culture, religious , race celebration and etc..
Do we really understand "Awal Muharram" , "Dragon Boat Festival", "Taipusam" ?
Our "Perayaan Tanglung 1Malaysia BTR 2009" could not catch much bigger crowd of Malay and Indian friends in Ikan Emas residential area. Yet, the padang/field that we used it for the celebration is surrounded by high-density flats not less than 10 blocks.
We blast our loud speaker towards the flats to lure the crowd but with very least non-Chinese joining us.
Why, so near yet so far.....our Malaysian ?
Because the non-Chinese thought that "Mid Autumn Festival" is some kind of religious event not suitable to other religion ? Or, the event is served with "inconvenient foods" ?
I will to get the attention of Pemuda BN to look into this "Indifferent Matters".I will suggest to get our Ministry of Communication to have the strategic program to explain the indifferent cultures in the all kind of medias.
Say, let the Chinese and Indian newspaper to have a special column report on "Awal Muharram"; let the Malay and Chinese newspaper to report on " Taipusam" and get the Malay and Indian newspaper to report on "Dragon Boat Festival"........
Let's look forward with 1Malaysia !
